The end with a BONUS

That's right, Set Free: An Amish Journey has come to an end. Allan's story comes to its conclusion with Trestle Press's latest release - Volume 9 - Humbled.

As a bonus, Trestle has decided to include the short epilogue of Volume 10 with Volume 9 for free. What do you think about that? I think it's great!

In Humbled, Allan must face the consequences of his actions. What will come of his late evening conversation with the schoolteacher? The story culminates a year to the day after Allan’s arrival in Karsten Field. Another stranger appears out of the falling snow and the events of that night leave Allan humbled.

Volume 10 is an epilogue, of sorts. This short piece tells what became of Allan and the fateful events of that December night. “His last chance was their only hope.” Allan Howarth came to escape a life of mental and emotional imprisonment. A plain life in Karsten Field set him free, but he also changed their Amish lives for the better. A story of birth, death and renewal shows Allan how bright God’s future can be.

With the end of the series, I would like to give thanks. Thank You, God for giving me this gift and the spare time to share it. Thank you, Trestle Press for believing in the value of my story and publishing it. Thank you, readers for sticking with me on this journey. Without you, I would not be doing this and always appreciate your support.

Please, download Volume 9 today, including the BONUS Volume 10 - http://goo.gl/lRvO2

Looking for a Loophole

Up to this point in his journey, Allan has been focused on himself and his family. In volume 8, The Loophole, he may have found a higher calling. We finally find out why "his last chance was their only hope".

His last chance was their only hope.

In this new, best-selling, periodical short story series from Trestle Press, a man on the brink of self-destruction is given the opportunity to start over.

Part 8 of 10.

The women of Karsten Field know their loopholes very well. Allan is presented with the opportunity to learn firsthand, but it has nothing to do with knitting.

His relationship with Mary Reece is developing into something new and she may be looking for a loophole to get out of it. But that is interrupted by the arrival of some strangers. Allan is going to need his own loophole to deal with them.

The Loophole is available now from Trestle Press for $0.99 -  http://goo.gl/f58UQ

For My Daughter

I think about my daughter now. She is sweet and innocent. She loves her daddy. I am the man in her life.

Then I think about ten years from now (fifteen, if I get my way). She will most likely have a new man in her life. She will be thinking about romance and marriage.

That's what was on my mind as I wrote the latest volume of my Amish Journey. I will admit that I had to move away from the keyboard for a while. I couldn't see what I was typing through the tears. So, I got a little emotional. I hope you can share some of that with me.

His last chance was their only hope.

In this new, best-selling, periodical short story series from Trestle Press, a man on the brink of self-destruction is given the opportunity to start over.

Part 7 of 10.

With spring in full swing, Allan learns to start working his farm. He has chickens in the barn and weeds in his field. His good friend Ben Abrim is there to lend a hand and share a helpful word.

The only thing that throws him off is Alice. She decides to make her intentions known regarding Sam Menlach.

Things end with a startling event at the schoolhouse.

Happy Easter!

Many of my readers are relatively well-behaved Christians, so I think I am safe in saying "Happy Easter" without offending anyone. If you are not Christian, I hope you are having a great weekend and taking advantage of those sales at your local grocery store.

I am posting today with an early treat for your Easter basket. Volume 6 of Set Free: An Amish Journey is available from Trestle Press today.

Half Way There

That's right! We've made it halfway through this Amish Journey. Five of the ten planned stories are now available from Trestle Press

There are plenty of rumors and myths flying around about the Amish. In this story, I thought I'd swat one of them down. I hope you like it.

Outsiders have many myths about the Amish. It has been said that an Amish father will paint to door of his house blue when he has a daughter old enough to marry. Allan Howarth will learn first-hand if that myth is true. In The Blue Door, Allan’s daughter Alice reveals her true motives for staying in Karsten Field. Meanwhile, Allan finds himself welcomed into the community, first through his new students and then by their parents. To top it all, his friend Ben Abrim has a surprise announcement that Allan never expected.

Don't forget, Trestle Press is having a BOGO sale, so if you haven't started your Amish Journey, now is the time!

Number 4 and a new cover

Here I am with the fourth volume of my story published by Trestle Press. All I can do is give thanks for all of the readers that have made it possible to call this a "best-selling" series.

You can get the newest story on Kindle by clicking here:

What do you think of the new cover design? I think it really sets my story apart and I feel pretty good. I like how the title looks painted on to the side of the house.

This volume moves the story along somewhat, but we also take a break for a flashback. I wanted to show how Karsten Field came to be. I wanted folks to know how God has worked through the people of Karsten Field before and that He is not done with them.

Thank you all again for reading Set Free. I hope it means as much to you reading it as it does to me writing it.

Do you like the title?

Set Free Volume 2 - The Hat on the Water has been published by Trestle Press. You can get it now for 99¢

What do you think of the title? My dad used to do that. He would say something out of the blue that did not quite make sense. Then he would wait for us to ask before he would explain it. By the end of the story, it would make sense.

That's what I tried to do with this story. I wanted the title to seem peculiar until it made sense.

An Amish Journey

Well, here I am. I never had use for Facebook or "social" internet. Now I feel like a big shot. I am all over the web, learning new things everyday.

Why am I doing this? I will tell you. Thanks to Trestle Press, I am now a published author. I have lots of stories that my father told me about his father. Some of them true, some of them a long stretch from the truth. One of the ladies at work is always reading on her Kindle. She told me I should send one of my stories to Trestle Press and this was the result.

My story is called "Set Free - An Amish Journey". It is about a man, frustrated in his own life, who makes a dramatic change with the hope of savings his relationships. He is not necessarily a spiritual man, so going from a secular life to an Amish community is a stark contrast. In the coming stories, I will show how this man comes to God on his unique journey.

I hope I get this link right => http://www.amazon.com/Free-Journey-1-Coming-Journey-ebook/dp/B006K8U7CW

This is the cover for the first story, Coming Home. It is only 99¢ for Amazon Kindle and BN Nook.
